This Fund was established in honor of the All-State athlete from G.A.R. High School who went on to become one of the most respected high school football coaches of his time. Gorham served as an educator, principal, football coach and athletic director at Meyers High School during a career that spanned 35 years. The Fund will help recognize his ability to challenge students to “soar beyond themselves” and give their all to whatever they do.
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a graduating senior of Wilkes-Barre Area High School, Wilkes-Barre, PA;
- Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree at any accredited college/ university, career training center, or vocational training institution as a full-time student;
- Must be an active participant in any sport, whether that be as a player or team assistant/equipment manager;
- Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA;
- Must have demonstrated service to school and/or community;
- Must show demonstrated financial need.
