Determination

D

DEVELOP your talents. An ability that is underdeveloped is like a hidden oil field, an asset capable of changing your life, yet hidden from view and nonproductive.

E

EXPOSE your abilities and potentials to the world. You can’t discover who you are without facing the competition. Knowing who you are allows you to be satisfied with yourself, to wake up in the morning prepared to begin the day, and to end the day feeling challenged and stimulated.

T

TACKLE each goal and each day as if it was your last. But if success looks like it will be difficult to achieve and your resolve waivers slightly, keep in mind that you’re working towards a better you – and you’re important.

E

ENJOY competition for its own sake. The skills and strategies of your opponents merely uncover your own strengths and weaknesses. Accept the challenge and find out how you can convert your weaknesses into strengths.

R

REALIZE where you are going and what you want to do. Without a goal and a clear sense of direction, you will only go around in circles, never getting anywhere.

M

MOTIVATE yourself by associating with strivers. Keep in mind that you’ll tend to perform at the level of those around you. Lazy people will make you lazy. Stay away from low achievers.

I

INTENSITY is essential to success, which means that you will never reach a goal by spreading your energies. So concentrate on your goal by practicing it daily, conditioning your body to work smoothly and effortlessly, and training your mind not to sway from the task at hand.

N

NEVER exaggerate your own importance. It doesn’t matter how successful you are or how important your skills may be to the team – you are always replaceable.

A

AMONG your most important assets are your experiences; they can never be taken away. Try things the are new and difficult. They will broaden your life and expand your knowledge.

T

TIME builds into days, weeks, months and years. So remember that no dingle day will cause you to succeed or fail, for accomplishments are achieved from a resolute, directed effort over a long period of time. Begin today to use each day wisely; a wasted day is forever lost.

I

IGNORE those who tell you to take it easy because you will never succeed by “taking it easy”. The challenge of the impossible makes life exciting. Achievement of a low goal gives only a fraction of the satisfaction a very difficult goal will give.

O

OVERCOME the fear of failure. If you’ve never failed, you’ve never tried anything difficult. You have as much right to fail as you have to succeed. But when you do fail, pick yourself up and try again. After all, what do you have to lose? You have just one life; you may as well live it to the fullest.

N

NEVER be satisfied with reaching a goal. Once you reach it, savor it briefly, and then move toward your next goal. The Journey toward the goal is much more rewarding than actually achieving it. If you stop at the achieved goal, you will stagnate.

Whatever your mind can conceive and believe, it will achieve. Dream great dreams and make them come true. Do it now. You are unique. In all of the history of the world there was never anything else exactly like you, and in all the infinity to come there will never be another you. Never affirm self-limitations. What you believe yourself to be you are. To accomplish great things, you must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe. If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost – put foundations under them. Yes you can. Believing is magic. You can always better your best. You don’t know exactly what you can do until you try. Nothing will come of nothing. If you don’t go out on a lib, you’re never going to get the fruit. There is no failure except in no longer trying. Hazy goals produce hazy results. Clearly define your goals. Write them down, make a plan for achieving them, set a deadline, visualize the results and go after them. Just don’t look back unless you want to go that way. Defeat may test you; it need not stop you. If at first you don’t succeed, try another way. For every obstacle there is a solution. Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. The greatest mistake is giving up. Wishing will not bring success, but planning, persistence and a burning desire will. There is a gold mine within you from which you can extract all the necessary ingredients. Success is an attitude. Get yours right. It is astonishing how short a time it takes for very wonderful things to happen. Now, show us the colors of your rainbow!
