In a heartfelt tribute to the remarkable life of Maria Kashatus, parents Thomas and Margaret Kashatus have created “The Maria Kashatus Memorial Fund.” Maria was a resident for forty one years at White Haven Center, a state facility for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. Maria could not talk, could not walk, and needed to be fed by others; but her quiet personality gave her an extraordinary and amazing ability to bring family and friends together. Maria was not only a daughter; she was a grand-daughter, a niece, a sister, an aunt and a friend to everyone.
This fund is established and dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities, ensuring that they receive the support and services which they deserve. Maria’s legacy lives on through this compassionate tribute, by touching lives with hope and the care that they deserve.”
