Funding the Future: The Luzerne Foundation Nonprofit Accelerator Helps Nonprofits Reach Their Greatest Potential

The Luzerne Foundation’s Nonprofit Accelerator is a capacity-building initiative designed to strengthen the effectiveness and sustainability of local nonprofits, made possible through a partnership with The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, All One Foundation & Charities, and the William G. McGowan Charitable Fund.

The Nonprofit Accelerator was developed to support a cohort of nonprofit organizations through structured coaching and consulting sessions, along with monetary support. The program is designed to connect Northeastern Pennsylvania nonprofits with funding opportunities and equip them to succeed through a focused model aimed at addressing poverty-related issues within our community.

Organizations interested in being considered for the program are encouraged to check back for future updates regarding eligibility requirements and the opening of the next Letter of Inquiry (LOI) application. This application includes responses to key prerequisite program requirements aligned with participating foundations’ priorities. Selected organizations commit to participating in monthly learning sessions throughout the program year, featuring keynote speakers and local educators. At the conclusion of the program, participating nonprofit organizations will:

  • Empower nonprofit leaders.

  • Learn how to complete a grant request to a major foundation.

  • Develop skills to seek additional funding sources.

  • Receive $50,000 in operating funds through a Hybrid Fund established at The Luzerne Foundation, plus additional incentives.

  • Full participation in the Nonprofit Accelerator Program is applicable for 40 points in Category 1.B – Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.*

*Participation in the Nonprofit Accelerator Program may assist you in learning or reviewing concepts covered on the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) examination as detailed on the Test Content Outline provided by CFRE International. CFRE International does not sponsor or endorse any educational programs and the Nonprofit Accelerator Program was not developed in conjunction with CFRE International.
