Now Accepting Scholarship Applications

Who should apply? Candidates must meet the following criteria:

THIS AWARD IS LIMITED TO STUDENTS OF ARCHITECTURE AND DOES NOT INCLUDE FIELDS OF INTERIOR DESIGN/ARCHITECTURE OR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE.

Monies from this Fund will be awarded as a non-renewable scholarship, annually, to EITHER:

  1. ANY “local” area student(s) who have received their high school diploma, and/or received a 2-year Associate Degree and have been admitted into AND ARE ATTENDING any NAAB accredited (or NAAB Candidate) Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture program.
  2. ANY STUDENT ATTENDING A “LOCAL” NAAB ACCREDITED (OR NAAB-CANDIDATE) BACHELOR OF ARCHITECTURE OR MASTER OF ARCHITECTURE PROGRAM.
The term “local” shall include permanent residence OR LOCATION in any of the following nine counties of Pennsylvania:
 
    • Bradford
    • Columbia
    • Lackawanna
    • Luzerne
    • Pike
    • Sullivan
    • Susquehanna
    • Wayne
    • Wyoming
A wide range of factors will be considered by the selection committee in determining scholarship awards. These factors include, but are not limited to, the quality of design represented in the student’s portfolio of work, the economic need for assistance in meeting tuition expenses, and the student’s academic achievements. Each applicant will have the opportunity to share what they believe qualifies them as a candidate for a scholarship in the essay portion of the submission.
A fully completed scholarship application and required supporting materials (see Required Attachments on page 4) must be submitted by Friday, May 31, 2024.

MUST BE SUBMITTED BY FRIDAY, MAY 31, 2024

This Fund was established in 2003 by the Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Institute of Architects to build an endowment and provide scholarships to worthy and qualified college students from Northeastern Pennsylvania to pursue the study of architecture. Since 2007, the Fund has awarded $95,000 among 33 qualified architecture students.
