The Kathy Wega Memorial Scholarship was created by Kathy’s husband, Jack, to honor and memorialize her vitality, spirit, and active involvement in the Dallas School District.
As an endowed scholarship, the intention is to provide scholarship assistance to a male or female graduate of Dallas High School planning to major in Journalism/Writing. Further eligibility criteria are as follows:
- The applicant must have maintained a minimum grade average of 3.0 for at least their junior and senior years in high school
- The applicant must intend to enroll as a full-time student in any certified 2-year to 4-year undergraduate university or college
- The Award is for one-year only and non-renewable
- The applicant must fully complete and submit ALL required scholarship application documentation, including required references, academic transcripts, etc. by the annual due date.
Award recipient(s) must maintain a B average their fall semester to be eligible to receive their 2nd scholarship installment for the spring semester.
