The Luzerne Foundation Announces New President & CEO

The Luzerne Foundation announced today that David Pedri is appointed as the new President and CEO of The Luzerne Foundation. An experienced leader, David will succeed Charles M. Barber and assume responsibilities on September 1, 2021. Charles Barber will retire as ofJune 30, 2021 after serving 21 years as President & CEO.

“I have worked with David for many years and greatly respect his dedication and drive to improve Luzerne County. As the County manager, he knew how to juggle a variety of projects simultaneously, a skill that will serve him well at The Luzerne Foundation. With David’s energy and knowledge, I am confident The Foundation will be in excellent and capable hands. I wish him only the very best.” says Charles Barber.

“The Luzerne Foundation is an amazing organization and the perfect opportunity for me to continue to help those in need here in Luzerne County,” said David Pedri. “I know Charles Barber has left big shoes to fill, and I will strive each day to equal the impact he has made,” continued Pedri. “I am excited to begin my new role with the Luzerne Foundation, and I thank the Board for the confidence in me in moving the Foundation forward,” said Pedri.

While serving as County manager, David oversaw all day-to-day operations of Luzerne County government, including the supervision of over 1,400 employees and a $300 Million Budget.

David is an attorney who was born and raised in Luzerne County. After graduating from St. Joseph’s University and Law School at Temple University, he accepted a Luzerne County Assistant District Attorney position, followed by Chief County Solicitor and County Manager.
