The Fund was established by family and friends of Erik Fredmund to honor his memory and encourage positivity and resilience in the youth and adult throughout our community. Erik was an energetic, fun loving student who always strived to bring light, kindness and friendship to those around him.
The fund will focus on those programs, services, and organizations that encourage youth and adults to pursue a positive, healthy, community focused and energetic lifestyle as well as the importance of education. Basketball Tournament Honors Man’s Memory
Citizens’ Voice / Staff Report / Published: June 23, 2019
Approximately 80 players participated in the 2019 3×3 for L.L.E. (Live Like Erik) basketball tournament Saturday in Wright Twp. Park.
The tournament raises funds on behalf of the Luzerne Foundation’s Erik Fredmund Memorial Fund. The event celebrates the life of Fredmund, who passed away last year.
“He loved his Jordans, drinking slushies, and most of all, he loved playing basketball,” his family wrote in the tournament program. “So what better way to say thank you to him for blessing us with love and laughter than to hold a tournament of his favorite game in memory.”
All funds raised will be used to give grants and scholarships to organizations that encourage youth to pursue a positive, healthy and community-focused lifestyle and to students that reflect sportsmanship, acceptance, kindness and friendship.
