Grants

The Luzerne Foundation is a nonprofit corporation whose primary purpose is to build a charitable reserve of capital for current and future needs of Luzerne County. It administers a community endowment comprised of many gifts, large and small, and it achieves its purpose through grants in support of other non-profit organizations and community programs.

Strategic grants are offered in the areas of education, health and human services, the environment and the arts. Preference will be given to proposals submitted by non-profit organizations within Luzerne County, particularly those projects representing a collaborative effort of service providers and those likely to gain support from matching fund arrangements.

Since its inception, The Luzerne Foundation has provided grant support to countless organizations.

The Luzerne Foundation's 2013 Spring Grant Cycle is upon us. Please consider submitting a Grant Application for your non-profit organization. All non-profit organizations operating in Luzerne County or serving the residents of Luzerne County are eligible. Completed applications must reach The Luzerne Foundation by Monday, April 15, 2013.

When preparing your grant application, please review and follow our revised guidelines for 2010. Please keep the text of your description of your request to two pages or less—it should be succinct, clear, straight-forward and include a project budget (your budget may be on an additional sheet). Also, if you have applied for a grant in 2009, 2010, 2011 or 2012, you need not include the requested appendix to the application.
